One small post on a popular webmaster’s forum brought some truly amazing results for my first web directory. The site received almost 2,000 submissions in its first month. They are coming in so fast, I can hardly keep up with the manual review process to approve them in a timely manner.

I will also continue to work on improving its features, such as SEO friendly page titles and descriptions, and to edit these listings and expand the category structure.

    PC Heaven

Ever wonder where PC’s go when they die ? They seem to end up at my place.

Some will call me a pack-rat, but I found I never need something… until it has been tossed out. Over the years, I have seemed to amass quite a collection of computers that have outlived their prime.

From a late model 386 (complete with a “turbo” button) to an early Pentium II that had succumbed to an early death. There is even a 5 1/4″ floppy drive in the one. Some of those pictured still work, while others have been gutted and put to use elsewhere.

Perhaps someday I should open my very own PC Museum.

After years of trying to get my website listed in a certain “open” web directory that claims to have been “founded in the spirit of the Open Source movement” and more recently failing to get a few other websites listed that I felt were much better than similar listed sites — I began to experience a strange feeling.

Was it just me? I began researching and reading how many other webmasters had felt towards this web directory and found more troubling issues with it and its editors than I could imagine. It became DMOZing to see all these people submitting their web sites only to find out they do not have a chance in hell to actually get listed.

I felt this practice has become DMOZing to the morale of webmasters worldwide as they can only pray for a miracle that they will possibly become listed some day and inspired me to create my very own free web directory.

Submit your website and get listed at the DMOZing FREE web directory.
